Just Moms

On occasion, a mom has to get away, so she can come home again, refreshed and better able to be the wonderful person her family knows her to be.
This year the "girls" decided to hit Seaside Oregon.

There was some silliness...
Some getting fancy...
In preparation for more silliness.
Followed by yet more silliness, with sunglasses.
A bit of serious fun, a thirtieth birthday tattoo.
Followed by... you guessed it, more silliness... with hats this time.
But as we were at the beach, the beach had to be visited.
And crabs played with.
But we all know... "What happens at the beach, stays at the beach."

Summer

Our summer in a handful of moments:

Time spent at Great Grandpa Dan and Grandma Ellie's.

Time spent in the driveway.

Time spent together.
These are the times great memories are made from.

Grandpa Chris

Christian's dad came and visited us, and we had a great time.

We showed him our downtown, the walking tour, stopping for ice-cream and to enjoy the outdoor concert.
We played at the park.
We tried on his sunglasses.
We showed him our favorite farmers market.
He took pictures of us...
And we took pictures of him (3 of the 4 living generations of Hansen boys).
Thanks for visiting Grandpa Chris!

Mountains

We are lucky enough to live close to multiple big mountains, and this month we got to visit and explore two of them.

First we went to Mt Hood, at the top is Timberline Lodge. Timberline is the big place for winter olympic sports hopefuls, as they keep some snow year round. We joined Grandpa Dan there for a meal for his birthday. Then explored the mountain a bit.

A few days later, we drove up to Mt Saint Helens.
On the drive up is Big Foot or Sasquatch country, and this awesome carving.
We kept driving...
This is the view from the west... you can still see most of the ridge.
This is the view from the north, at the observatory. You can clearly see the "blast area", the missing ridge and center of the volcano.
We went inside, watched a video and explored the exhibits.
Then took advantage of the view.
And headed home.
