And heaven forbid a pregnancy ever be that. I went for my 39 week appointment this morning. With Christian being so swamped at work we thought a 6:40 am appointment was great, he'd even get in to work early. So wrong. Instead we stayed for 4 hours. The doctor was concerned because when she checked the heart rate it was much slower than what is normal for this baby and slower than what they normally like in general. So a non-stress test for me. 45 minutes, juice and crackers later, still slow and very little happening. She's still concerned so I was sent to Triage for a biophysical workup. More non-stress monitoring and an ultrasound. The ultrasound showed that the baby is fine, measuring about 8lbs 9oz and the heartrate picked up a little, enough for them to be reassured and happy. But, back to the doctor for another chat because the fluid is just barely into the high measurements. I have hydramnios by 1-2 cm. They want to make sure I am still feeling okay with my decision to VBAC. I am still totally high and closed, but they are concerned with a cord prolapse if my water breaks. Anyhow, it's all good, I'm home now, baby is moving enough for me to be comfortable about sitting it out a bit longer. My next appointment is for next Friday. When I go I have to have 2 plans of action ready to discuss, what to do if I am dialating, what to do if I'm not. I am pretty sure that if I'm not I will still stick it out for a week past, providing the baby is still doing well, but schedule a section for 41 weeks "just in case". I will be sad if I don't get to at least try to labor, but the baby being safe is of course the most important thing.
Other than that, we had a good week last week. Attended an airshow at the little airport here in town. We really enjoyed ourselves, even though they had to cancel some of the acrobatics due to wind and cloud cover. A somewhat mellow week around the house. My mom's group did a food and diaper shower for me on Thursday. It was wonderful to experience the outpouring of support from the ladies here.
