The ickies have attacked our house again!!
Both kiddos started the snots on Friday, and Wyatt started coughing on Sunday night. He had a mild fever and horrible wheezing with labored breathing last night. When he woke he was still coughing and his voice was almost totally gone, but he seemed to be breathing fine and he was playing. As the morning progressed though, so did his wheeze. Off to the Doctors for us.
The Dr (not one I usually like to see, but she was decent today) said that he didn't have a fever anymore. He was given a breathing treatment and because he responded to it immediately she said that it's most likely an asthmatic attack brought on by the cold, not anything more serious, and most likely, although I had childhood asthma, this is an isolated instance. So he'll have a few treatments a day and then a re-check on Thursday. I'm so proud of my boy, he was very cooperative and tolerated the treatment with no complaining or wiggling.
We got our nebulizer delivered this afternoon (after MUCH haggling about insurance coverage) and Wyatt did his first home treatment. He was a little squirmy but after it was done he immediately says "Again Mama!" Silly guy. He's a trooper. He's still very energetic, just isn't eating, so I'm pushing fluids as much as possible.
On a side note, all this and only 2 small potty accidents yesterday! We are well on our way to being potty trained. Oh the money we'll save!
While we were at the Doctors I also had them check Cordelia just because we were there and since she is snotty (though not coughing), and she's totally clear. Thank heaven for small miracles.
