Craziness

Saturday morning I turned our world upside down with my clutziness.
I was coming down the stairs in my super huge pants (mens 3x pjs) that I have been meaning to cut off, I stepped with my right foot onto the bottom of my left pj leg, trapping my foot as I fell, therefore landing on it in a very inopportune way. I have a bad habit of falling down stairs so I knew instantly it was broken, it made a very distinctive snap and (skip this if you are squeemish)... my ankle was dangling in a nasty sort of way, nothing coming through the skin, but definately protruding.... They did xrays and it was broken in two places about 2 inches above my ankle, unfortunately for me, they weren't the more usual, clean horizontal breaks, they were both more vertical and the center section was jagged. So they had to do surgery and put a plate and multiple screws in my leg just above the ankle. I am in a splint of sorts and have to keep it elevated and iced for approx 10 days. My follow up appointment is scheduled for next Monday. Until then, I've been ordered to be a slug on the couch, which currently isn't a problem (it's impossible to carry anything, including my sweet kiddos when using crutches) but the pain is crazy and just going to the bathroom saps all energy. So thank you for all the well wishes and prayers. I think this is going to be a long road, luckily I have a wonderful circle of friends in my mom's group and they have already mobilized the troops, sending help and meals continuously for the next week. So blessed are we that I found these wonderful women.
