Catching Up

Slacker me huh?! Okay... this is going to take some thinking...
First off, some late birthday pictures:
Wyatt with the biggest bear ever, from Great Grandpa/ma Hansen
Wyatt (3yr) and Cordelia (9mo) with their respective birthday bears, haven't they gotten big?!
Wyatt's first golf clubs, from Grandpa Chris and Grandma Kat:
We had a really nice 4th. We watched fireworks from the mall parking lot like we have every year. They did a nice show and we couldn't have asked for nicer weather. We also went to a BBQ and enjoyed the yummy food and some fun in the pool.
Wyatt in front of our house:
Watching fireworks:I have continued walking everyday, getting up to 2 miles some days. I even did a few days of light jogging, though I have now injured my knee and I am back to regular doses of Motrin and restricted activity per Dr's orders. I have been fully released and am considered healed regarding my ankle though. I do still get some discomfort and swelling, but I should expect that to continue long term.
I finally finished Cordelia's tank.... SO proud of myself! Not only did I try it, I completed it, and I think it turned out rather well. Go me!
We did a yard sale on the 7th, sadly not nearly as lucrative as the last. We also went to an indoor water park that afternoon. Wyatt just loves the water, Cordelia is learning to. She takes a few minutes to warm up to the idea, then enjoys splashing but only so long as it doesn't get in her face.
Christian had taken Wyatt to a fire company breakfast to collect funds for the families of the S Carolina firefighters. They had a great time meeting the volunteers and getting to see all the gadgets on the trucks.
Christian has been working hard to get transferred to another position within the company. He's ready for something more challenging. He also continues to take time to ride with friends, play baseball and work on his photography and photo editing skills.
This past weekend we travelled to VA to stay with a work friend of Christians. We had a LONG ride down but it was worth it. We went to a local flea market, had lunch out and enjoyed some time in the pool. Wyatt is just such a water bug. He was jumping off the side into the water, dog paddling back to the side to pull himself out of the water to do it all again. It's amazing! He would do it all unassisted. I don't remember being that brave or talented at 3. Cordelia sat in her little boat floaty and just watched and splashed a little. Those are the times that parenting is so rewarding and fulfilling. On the way home we drove through DC since I had never been. Unfortunately the kids had slept so little over the previous 4 days that they slept for a solid 3 hours after leaving VA, making parking and walking around impossible. A really awesome thing we found, since I am still using a handicapped placard on occasion, we got to drive through the Arlington National Cemetery!! I don't have the words to express the feelings I had going through there. It's beautiful but so, so sad. Especially when you see the newest plots, a reminder that we are still at war and we need to be thankful everyday of everything we have.
(I will post a photoshow of the trip later.)
Anyhow. Christian has had a very busy week this week. We did Wyatt's appointment (see previous post) and we are just enjoying the summer. This weekend will be another busy one. I'll try to post by mid-week next week.
Love and smooches!

Is Wyatt really 3? He looks so grown up! And what a beautiful little girl. She has such gorgeous eyes (got them from you, I know).
