Christian was able to buy his ticket, he leaves Friday at 8am (yikes! dragging 2 kids to the airport and back at 5am, not fun) and goes through LA, arriving in Oakland before 5pm. He comes back Monday the 8th, leaving Oakland at 1pm, layover in Chicago and home at midnight. Thankfully he has someone that said they most likely will be able to give him a ride home so I don't have to drag the kids out of bed again. I know it's for a sad occasion, but hopefully he'll enjoy some visiting in his 2 1/2 days there. It's been almost 2 years since we have visited and we miss everyone terribly.
Thank you again to those who have offered to help us financially, this plane ticket cost almost as much as our monthly rent! The really crazy thing, most airlines don't do standby anymore, those that do don't offer a discounted price for the ticket. There were many airlines that don't do bereavement fares either. Shocking. What happened to human kindness in a time of need? Suppose it too got gobbled by corporate greediness. Err. Okay, off my soapbox.
Love to you all, thank you for keeping us in your thoughts and prayers.
