Another crazy day. We did not make up any of yesterday's missed miles, and we ended up stopping early today too. We should have been in Utah by tonight, instead we are barely into Wyoming. We were doing great until the check engine light in the Uhaul truck came on, then we made a bunch of extra stops. No idea why it's on, but since it is working fine, Uhaul said to keep going. Then just passed Cheyenne we got slammed by a really nasty wind storm. The sign on the way up the mountain said 80+ mile an hour winds, the sign at the half way point said 70+. At one point we had to pull off the road it was so bad. We saw 3 semi's on their sides in less than 100 yards. I am usually a pretty hard to rattle person, but it was too much for me, I had a full meltdown and actually yelled at the kids. What a bad mom, taking out my fear and anxiety on them. :( We crawled the 20ish miles to the closest town and stopped. Tomorrow the wind gusts are supposed to be down to 20 or less. Hopefully we can make up some time. I am fairly certain that regardless of how well we do though, we will be making one more stop, then finish with a half day Wed morning.
