Field Trip

Wyatt's preschool class went on a field trip to one of the local grocery stores last Friday. It was a lot more fun than you might think. And a really great bonus, it was the final straw that forced Wyatt to walk on his cast. Up until then he was still nervous, but he was feeling too left out sitting in a cart, so out he went, and he did great!

Waiting for the "tour" to start.
The kids were introduced to the produce department, told all about what was offered, where they got it from (see the globe?), and they got to taste test.
My hubby, he did what he always does when we go any where in public, he finds someone and starts chatting. No clue who he was talking to, just having a good conversation.
Cordelia wasn't feeling well and mostly just snuggled my sweater and hung out.
Wyatt, my sweet little perfectionist, got distracted by some of the produce that was mixed together. The rest of the class moved on, he stayed to sort things into their proper places.
The kids were taken into the refrigerators and the back stock area to see where they store everything before stocking the shelves. The produce manager showed them all a rubber spider that is a replica of what they sometimes find in the banana boxes. They all wanted to search the boxes for the real thing afterward.
Wyatt was still going strong 40 minutes in.
Baked yumminess (I'm fairly certain it took a whole bottle of windex to clean the front of that glass after we left, due mostly to the drooling Mamas).
We visisted the seafood section as well, where the kids got to see and touch a crab.
At the end Cordelia finally started to perk up.
And Wyatt pooped out. (He was given the royal treatment by the store manager who insisted on carrying him.)
The tour was finished up with free goodies, cookies and reusable grocery bags. It was a great field trip.
