All about ME!

Seeing as last month I turned 30, and as I usually fill everyone in on what the kids do... I figured it was a good time to blab about me.

I did my first 5k+ on March 15th (which I already told you about). It was both much harder and much easier than I expected. The coolest thing being that I finished. After a celebratory late breakfast, I came home and the kids wanted to surprise me with what they had gotten me for my birthday. Together with Christian, they set up a little scavenger hunt for me, I searched for clues around house and found the gifts. Some fun games and equipment for the Wii.

On my actual birthday, the kids and I headed to have lunch at a local Mexican restaurant with some friends. It was such a beautiful day that we headed to a park afterward.
The kids played...
And we all enjoyed the swings...
Yep, even me!
The kids had so much fun that they fell fast asleep on the drive home.
Christian ended the day by surprising me with really pretty flowers.

On March 29th my two closest girl friends and I did another 5k (crazy aren't we? 2 in one month!). This time Christian came and brought the kids. I signed both kids up for the Kids Run. They loved it and immediately wanted to do it again.

Us Girls being silly before it started.
My monkeys.
Coming over the start line, even though we were walking it, we jogged the first handful of yards so as not to hinder the runners at the start.
The half way point, WHOO!
And coming down the finish line, Wyatt was slapping everyone 5 as they finished.
My phone has a stop watch on it... we finished in 1 hour 5 minutes.
I had about 5 minutes after finishing to get the kids numbers on and into the line up for their run.
Wyatt was fast and quickly left Cordelia in the dust... but she kept going.
And finished with a smile.
As did Wyatt!
Then we got to snack on all the goodies that were offered.
It was so much fun and I'm sure there will be a lot more of these in our future.

Most of March was fiber/wool/knitting/spinning filled.
Some knitting, socks for me:
I practiced and got much better on the drop spindle (Destiny kept a close eye to make sure I was doing it right).
I bought lots of yummy fiber with money that was gifted to me.
I went to a fiber sale and met an online friend for the first time, we are like two peas in a pod. It's amazing how well we clicked and I am so very excited that she's moved to the west coast and is just a bit of a drive from me now.
She gifted me with some raw fiber that I can card/comb and dye before spinning, as well as some that she dyed herself.
I was also the recipient of some surprise fiber gifts that arrived in my mailbox.
And if that wasn't enough to spoil me rotten, the rest of my birthday money was spent on a real, old fashioned spinning wheel!! It came in lots of pieces in a big box, Christian put poly on it and put it together for me.
And I quickly got to work with some small fiber samples I had.
Awesome!!

And last but not least, I have pretty new hair courtesy of some Mother/Daughter time when we visited Moses Lake. It's bright and colorful and so much fun!
