Yes that's right it is hot and ucky here. And we have no, repeat no, AC. *pant pant*
Our high temps: Thurs 70, Fri 86, Sat 99, Sun 89, Mon 86 and today is supposed to be 78. This is a place that averages 75 this time of year, and 75 is perfectly honky dory for me, but 99?! Yikes. Too Hot. The problem we are having is that we can't get the heat out once it's in. So it's cooler outside now than in.
So, that being said, you can understand why I haven't been wanting to sit in front of a hot computer. I am working on the birthday pictures, there are hundreds (and you know I'm not exaggerating) to weed through and I think I might have to break it up into more than one photo show, or it'll be mega long like the moving one. Anyhoodle, some other pictures to keep you entertained in the mean time.
The kids spent Sunday being entertained by uncle Howie and they loved playing in the "creek" in his back yard. Unfortunately the only camera available was the little point and shoot and it's just toast, so this was the least blurry picture I have of that.

Here's my attempt at keeping the kids and cat in while letting to cool air in as well. It worked for the kids, and here's the cat, making me think it was working for her... but low and behold, 30 minutes later she was no where to be found. Out she had gone, and to who knows where, she was seriously dirty when she came back. Hopefully I can find the 3rd gate we own so I can stack another one and keep her in.

Another trip out of the house to try and keep cool, this time to a local park with a water feature. It's got a pole with a big button on top and when the kids push it water shoots out of the ground from a series of holes, which lasts about 90 seconds and then they have to push it again. They thought it was great fun (even with some injuries from running).

I love the face he's making here.

Cordelia got a faceful of water when she was staring and trying to lick one hole, so she was done with the water and decided the play structure was more fun.

So last week was VBS week at Grandma and Grandpa's church and... and the theme was Veggie Tales Pirates. Well since Wyatt has been on a major pirate kick, I just had to let him go, even if it went past bedtime. I went the first day and Cordelia and I just hung around until it was over at 8:30... but that was way too late for my girl and I knew she wouldn't make it through the week if we did that every night. Thankfully Grandpa offered to drive Wyatt too and from. Of course, those that know me well, know I have major issues getting go. It was already a huge deal for me to loosen up and let him attend, letting him walk away and into a classroom where I couldn't go was a Big Deal for me. But he has to go to preschool this fall (he has been begging to go to school since he was 2 1/2) and I thought this was a good jumping off point. And then I had to add to my baby steps by taking another leap and letting him drive off in someone else's vehicle. Yikes. I did it though, and Grandpa was great. We made it through the week, even the last day, Friday which was parents night so Cordelia and I went again and stayed. We were there until 9:30 that night which is way too late for my kids... we'll be making up for it this week with extra naps. Anyhow, here are a few pictures from there.

Good for you TJ! I understand all those fears of letting go, I really do. That VBS looks like it was so much fun. I love VBS. I think it is a great idea, but too wish the night time VBS won't have to be right at bedtime. Oh well.
Stay cool this week!
