For Earth Day this year we went to the zoo to see the animals. There were a few special things going on. In the polar bear exhibit there was a special "Let's Lick Climate Change" show. The zookeepers put the lettering on the inside of the glass in cream cheese for the bears to come out and lick. It was great fun and Wyatt, Cordelia and Christian even ended up on the footage that made it to the local news station! While we waited for the polar bears to be released into the exhibit, we put on the temporary tattoos they were handing out. Here they come! After the licking fun, we wandered around the rest of the zoo. Saw how big the baby elephant had gotten. Checked out the new African cats exhibit again. Watched the zebras sun themselves. And of course we checked out the penguins. There are some new editions to our zoo, two river otters... Lots of turtles... Two new black bears... And a new stuffed bear in front of the zoo gift shop. We really enjoy our zoo membership, I think it's one of the best gifts ever given to my kids.
