Fire, Fire, Fire

As most of you know, Christian joined the county fire department last February. It's been a dream of his since childhood and he's really happy to be realizing it.
This was after getting his turnouts.
At the station, the vehicles and showing the kids the inside of the Aid (ambulance).
Welcoming the new recruits to the team.
There are three fire houses in the district, this was at the farthest station, up in the mountain.
A visit from my mom and step dad meant a trip to show them the fire house.
In May the recruits had finished most of their training and were officially welcomed onto the team, given their badges.
So happy for him.
Two weeks after that the three newest guys were official rookies and given their completion certificates.
The city and county guys have a fun rivalry, but Christian is so friendly he chats up everyone. He and Wyatt got to ride up in the brand new ladder truck that the city fire house was thinking of buying.
One of the ways the city and county fire departments like to have at each other is a big display during the Planters Day festival in town. The competition is called Red Ball. The teams stand with hoses and spray a buoy ball on a wire in a fireman's version of tug o' war. It was great fun!
Ready...
GO!
Fun times.
