Back to your regularly scheduled programing.

I know most of you are aware that we had to take Wyatt into the ER last Sunday. Some of you may remember the breathing issues from January 06, well, this was similar. It started out during the night, and was horrible by morning. This time though, there were no signs of a cold to start with, just straight to the raspy breathing. We were supposed to be spending the day on the boat again so I sent Christian and Cordelia off to have fun and I took Wyatt to the same day services clinic (since it was Sunday and the doctor was closed). They did a heart-rate and oxygen level reading and shoved us right back out the door to the ER. He was so calm about not being able to breathe that I didn't know it was as bad as it was, plus, within the time from when I left the house with him to the time we checked into the ER, his breathing got significantly worse and his temperature rocketed up to just shy of 105. That was scary. I called Christian and he showed up at the ER with Cordelia and Howie. By then Wyatt had already been covered with little sensors and wires and was working on his third breathing treatment. I knew he wasn't doing well because he was just zoned out and wouldn't answer or look at any of the doctors or nurses and he's usually such a little social bug. By the forth treatment he was perking up, watching TV and trying to pick the sensor stickers off. They brought the x-ray machine in and "took a picture" of his chest. He had no sign of pneumonia so after watching him for a bit longer they officially diagnosed him with asthma and prescribed a few days worth of liquid steroids and inhalers. He was then given a little bottle of bubbles and he and the nurse had a good time blowing and popping. Once he took over the blowing, they deemed his breathing good enough to go home.
Since then he has been a crazed little loony with the steroids (which are officially done today, thank goodness), his breathing is much better and he's down to the inhaler only twice a day. He went to school yesterday (because he was devastated that he missed Monday) and did fine.
They aren't sure what brought it on, I'm thinking he caught something during his first week of school, but we are now armed with all medications asthma related and know to head straight to the ER with him at the first sign of an attack.

Back to having fun with this sister, playing ring around the rosy.
Hammin' it up.
Obviously feeling better.
This is what he's missing most right now, I told him he can go back next week.

oh no! Poor Wyatt! We've been through breathing stuff too so I know how scary it is. I'm glad he's better now!
