My mom and stepdad came for another visit, this time just with the kids and I. Christian went on a two day backpacking/hiking trip with Uncle Howie.

We hung out at home, reading books...

Swimming in bubbles...

Reading more books...

Then headed to the farmers market in our little downtown.

And we enjoyed some local fair for dinner.

The next day Oma showed the kids how to de-seed a sunflower head.

And in the heat of the afternoon we headed downtown again, to a little shop that sells burgers and ice-cream. We all walked with our cones down to the lake...

Where we saw a very cool, very old fire engine. It's the very same one that they used in the 1906 San Francisco earthquake fires. The thing is just amazing. And it still works. Things just aren't made like that anymore.

Hanging down at the lake before walking home.

We had to get one last group shot, taken in our "downtown plaza", in front of the steamer water fountain.
